Blue Datto has celebrated its 5th Anniversary Gala Dinner by raising $95,000 to help fund its award winning Keeping Safe program.

Again held at the Hawkesbury Race Club, the room was filled with representatives from across the community who had come together to celebrate Blue Datto’s success over the last 5 years and raise much needed funds.

Co-Founder of Foundation Colleen Vassallo spoke on the evening thanking the local community and Blue Datto supporters for their generous contributions to Blue Datto.

“Over the last 5 years the Gala Dinner has raised $535,000 – which is incredible,” Colleen said.

“This money helps us run Keeping Safe programs for young people in school and community groups and by the end of this year we will have delivered programs to more than 18,000 young people.”

“We couldn’t have done this without the community’s support, and of course our amazing sponsors including Cutcliffe Properties who are the Major Sponsor of the Gala.”

The night was a mixture of celebration and reflection with a number of emotional speeches featuring throughout the night.

That included Suzy Murphy, who spoke candidly about losing her 18-year-old son Joel in a crash in Ebenezer in September 2015.

Suzy spoke of her emotional journey since Joel’s death, including the never-ending challenges faced by her family and Joel’s friends.

Also in attendance on the night was Fire and Rescue NSW’s Acting Commissioner Jeremy Fewtrell who spoke about road trauma from the perspective of a first responder.

Blue Datto would like to thank everyone who came along on the night and contributed to the success of the Gala!
