  • Road Trauma Support Group

Road Trauma Support Group

From early 2020, Blue Datto will facilitate monthly support group meetings for anyone over the age of 18 who has been affected by road trauma. It is our experience that for some people, meeting with others who have been through a similar experience can be very helpful.

Our support groups are jointly facilitated by a qualified counsellor and a representative from the Vassallo Family, founders of the Blue Datto Foundation.

Register your interest now by completing the Road Trauma Support Group Expression of Interest Form.

Support Group Details

Location: Blue Datto's Office (Penrith)

When: Date and time TBC - Please register above to be notified of details once finalised

Support Group Format

All meetings will be conducted in a confidential, informal and non-judgmental setting. A meeting typically starts with each person introducing themselves and disclosing as much or as little of their experiences as they feel comfortable with. A broad range of experiences and feelings will be discussed including sadness, confusion, anxiety, fear, guilt, bewilderment, anger and resentment.
On occasions and where appropriate, participants may disclose other aspects of their life.

The purpose of the group is to provide a safe space to connect with people who have shared similar experiences such as the loss of a child, sibling, parent, friend or any other significant person through road trauma and create a support network, even if it is just to sit and have a chat or share coffee with people who understand your grief.
