Thank you to the Murray Marathon Maniacs We cannot thank the Murray Marathon Maniacs Team enough for their ongoing support and fundraising efforts over the last two years, raising over $60,000 for Blue Datto! In both 2017 and 2018 Blue Datto were approached by a team of dedicated individuals from the Hawkesbury region with a combined passion for fitness, social justice and road safety awareness, to compete in the Massive Murray Paddle in the name of the Blue Datto Foundation. The Paddle is an annual, five-day, outdoor educational adventure and paddling relay event on the Murray River. This year the Murray Marathon Maniacs (MMM) team involved Danielle Mizzi, Katrina Croquett, Gabrielle Wickham, Kayleen Waddups, Vanessa Eyles, Janelle O'Reilly and Amber Swirsk, all of whom devoted endless time and energy towards our cause! In preparation for the event a charity golf day was organised by the team in October, which raised $24,327! The paddle took place late October and the Maniacs ended up finishing the 404-kilometre race in 17th for the relay section and first in their class of RKL2 mixed relay with a time of 39 hours and eight minutes. The MMM were named the highest fundraisers at the start of the event and were also declared winners in their competitive class. All the funds raised will be used to assist in the delivery of the Keeping Safe Program to high school students in NSW. Another THANKYOU to the MMM Team, especially Danielle Mizzi and Katrina Croquett for their immeasurable efforts towards making the roads a safer place and honouring those who have lost their lives to road trauma.
